Haiqin, a Chinese underwater device for large depths developed in China and remote control (ROV) to 6,000 meters, successfully completed an expedition in the southern Chinese sea, the scientists said the Xinhua agency.
Electric trenching system for the deep sea, called Haiqin, who designed and built Shanghai Jiao Tong University, reached the depth of 4,140 meters during the test navigation early on Saturday morning.
Equipped with high-resolution cameras, robotic hands, sonar systems and sensors, the trench has demonstrated abilities including automatic market maintenance and precise floating.
This trench weighs 3.6 tons successfully collected biological samples and sediment from the deep sea, and the collected material was transported to the accompanying research ship Zhong Shan da Xue.
In a significant event, the autonomous and remote device for the entire depth of the ocean (ARV) Haidou-1 was also launched during this expedition, which is the first time that two different unmanned underwater vehicles for deep sea were coordinated by scientific operations using one Chinese research ship.
