Neighbor Ibro Velagić was the first to suspect that something was wrong: “I got up in the morning and cleaned the snow, and considering that we are the first neighbors, I saw that the snow from his house had fallen in front of the entrance to the house, and it had not been cleared. Since Huso was digging graves and there was a funeral that day, I thought he had gone to dig a grave, and we assumed that the woman was somewhere in the neighborhood. However, in the afternoon we took the situation seriously. First we came to the house, everything was locked. We called them, but no one answered. Then I called the police,” says a visibly shaken Ibro, and continues: “The police came in about ten minutes. We opened the garage door and saw the generator. We entered the next room through the garage. The policeman went first, and I followed him. He was the first to see the scene and told me not to go any further,” Ibro told us.
Neighbors and the whole of Teočak are still in shock. The local imam, Amir ef. Abdulahović, points out that this is a very honest and virtuous family.
“Huso was an extremely hardworking and honest man. He dug graves, went on daily wages, his barn was full of cattle. As far as I know, his son came from Germany and bought a generator, which they connected outside. He allegedly worried that someone might steal it, and put it in the garage,” he told za Drina’s voice Effendija Abdulahović.
