According to the visual artist Denis Haračić, tonight’s exhibition is an extension of his previous work, about twenty works in the oil on canvas technique are presented, and there are also graphics.
– As an artist, thematically I am always interested in looking at society, actually diagnosing social problems or social diseases. This work is not significantly different from my previous works. However, now we have the name ‘Soul in reminiscence’, where this reminiscence refers to healing and the whole exhibition should symbolically represent the beginning of the healing process on a global level – said Haračić, a visual artist.
He emphasizes that on a global level we are witnessing ‘various things that common sense would say are superfluous’. However, as he said, we are exposed to it and this exposure can manifest itself as something monstrous.
– That’s why it was interesting for me to make such monstrous representations. Shows that don’t hesitate to show what’s wrong. Of course, in that context, art always has a role, to give some nobility to everything. Although the subject is of such a nature, I think that there is beauty in one aspect of painting – he stressed.
The exhibition will be on display until the end of January.
Denis Haračić is the recipient of eight awards and prizes in the field of fine arts, among others the Collegium Artisticum award for graphics in 2021, awarded by the Association of Fine Artists of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He lives and works in Sarajevo, and completed his master’s studies at the Department of Graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts.
