Social networks in Bosnia and Herzegovina are becoming more and more like the platforms of revenge, if he looked at how much hate speech is present on them.
The reason is that the state in society is transferred to social networks, but much more intensively. The devastating, faith and nation are increasingly abused, and that only contributes to the degradation of society and economic stability, writes BHRT.
Social networks are increasingly used for threats, endangering security, but also abuse of religion and nationality. And it is clear that regulations are needed to edit in digital media, including networks. The first step towards that are the recent changes to the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which came into force five days ago. Members of the Federal Police Directorate (FP) observes more and more comments on networks that cause religious and national hatred.
“He increased so much in relation to the earlier period, that we cannot arrive on our own. That is why these new changes in the criminal law will much easier for our work,” says FUP Director Vahidin Munjić.
Hate speech is now defined, but there is still shortcomings.
“What is lacking Bosnia and Herzegovina is an agency, at any level, which would deal with the content of the Intrenet, ie defined what is negative content, and what is positive,” Saša Petrović cyber security expert.
“Now I hope that prosecutors will not be able to refuse the police proposals, where we have hate speeches, especially threats to realize that the internet is taking place.
The expansion of hate speech was expected, because the situation from the society was transferred to social networks, Sociologist Vladimir Vasić. Outpours of rage through social networks are present, precisely because legal regulations are not regulated and there is no responsibility. That is why the nation and faith are most often abused.
“It seems to me that people who should calm down the situation, and these are people who keep leverage, and the nation and religion and faith, and then the poor people who live and every little thing can influence the flame of hate in BiH,” Vasic points out.
Nationalism, fascism, racism, discrimination, slowly take over primacy on social networks, compared to the good and useful sides. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the networks become the platforms of revenge, and according to ideological dissidents, the Journalist of Senko Kurt.
“The abuse of faith is perhaps in the top three of the most costly things, but also planet. But when we talk about Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is dangerous and that the radicalization of faith is that it is almost now, it seems to me, it is impossible to stop me,” Kurt says.
“Hatred No one will lead nowhere. Simply, not to give up what we are, but that we have space and heart for the other one who is different, because joy is in diversity,” sociologist Vladimir Vasić.
