According to data from the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute, 24.4 liters of precipitation per square meter were recorded at the Bukovčić measuring station in the last 24 hours, while the height of the snow cover is 45 centimeters.
All available crews and machinery are engaged in maintaining the passability of roads and the normal functioning of the city. JKP “Komunalac” Tuzla, with the support of other public companies, continuously works on clearing snow and sprinkling roads, including city and suburban routes, as well as priority sections such as the northern and southern city roads, approaches to health institutions and main city streets.
In the past 24 hours, a total of 574 kilometers of roadways and 55 kilometers of sidewalks were cleaned, while 80 tons of spreading material were used. Due to the intensity of the precipitation, many sections were cleared several times, and additional efforts were directed at removing snow from intersections, bridges and pedestrian areas.
Large amounts of snow caused trees and branches to fall in several locations in the city. Specialized teams are working on their removal, while the Professional Fire Department, in addition to one intervention to extinguish the fire, also had 24 technical interventions specifically to clear the terrain.
The snowfall also caused difficulties in the supply of electricity. According to the available information, around 2,000 users are currently without power, and the power distribution teams are on the ground and working to eliminate the faults. Due to interruptions in electricity supply, some settlements are also facing problems in water supply.
The supply of thermal energy is mostly stable, with occasional interruptions in certain settlements due to the loss of electricity. Competent services monitor the situation and take the necessary measures to ensure the stability of the system.
Despite the difficult conditions, communal services strive to maintain continuity in the provision of services, including waste collection. Considering the predicted continuation of precipitation, activities will continue during the night.
The city headquarters of civil protection appeals to citizens to be extremely careful, especially near trees, on roads and near buildings due to the possibility of snow falling from the roofs. They also remind us of the legal obligation to remove snow and ice from sidewalks and roofs, in order to reduce the risk of accidents and damage.
