The sports hall of SC Pavković and SC FairPlay in Široki Brijeg will be the venues for the ninth edition of the traditional football tournament for children “Herceg Sport Cup 2026” at the end of January and the beginning of February this year.
The tournament, which over the years has become recognizable competition for younger ages, this year gathers children in six age categories: 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 years.
According to the announcements of the organizers of the tournament, Herceg Sport Football School, this year’s edition is being postponed international characterwith the participation of teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Montenegro.
Arrival of HNK Hajduk Split and regional teams
Among the many participants, the arrival of the youth drive attracts special attention HNK Hajduk Split. Along with the Split team, numerous football clubs and schools from all over Herzegovina will perform on the pitches in Široki Brijeg.
Goal of the tournament is, in addition to the competitive part, to provide young footballers with the opportunity to prove their sportsmanship and gain new experiences through playing and socializing with their peers from neighboring countries.
Competition schedule
The competition is divided into several stagesand the first players to take the field will be the U11 (2015) and U9 (2017) categories. Their part of the tournament is scheduled for January 23-25, 2026.
The U8 (2018) and U10 (2016) categories will play from February 6 to 8, while the U12 (2014) and U7 (2019) categories are expected to be announced in the following days on the organizers’ channels.
