The number one tennis player in the world and defending champion at the Australian Open, Jannik Sinner, made it to the third round of this year’s Australian Open, although he looked quite nervous at the beginning.
Sinner knocked out the 173rd tennis player in the world, home representative Tristan Schoolkate.
The Australian opened the match excellently and won the first set with 6:4, which was an alarm for Sinner to get serious.
The Italian did that and played his game in the next three sets and won with 6:4, 6:1, 6:3 and for the rematch and the final triumph of 3:1 in the sets.
The match lasted two hours and 46 minutes.
Sinner probably did not expect to stay on the court for this long in a match against the 173rd tennis player in the world, but surely a warning that came in time.
In the third round, Sinner is expected to play American tennis player Marcos Giron, who is currently the 46th racket in the world on the ATP list.
