The Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton is richer for seven new Toyota vehicles, worth 659,000 KM.
Today, the handover took place and the keys of two vehicles for the Police Department I in Zenica and one vehicle for the Special Police Unit were handed over. The remaining vehicles will be distributed among the police departments in the ZDK.
Cantonal Prime Minister Nezir Pivić, Minister of Internal Affairs Emir Vračo and Police Commissioner Admir Gazić handed over the car keys to the head of PU I in Zenica, Mirsad Muračević, and the commander of the Special Police Unit, Samir Valentić.
In addition to these seven off-road vehicles, 39 new vehicles with a total value of 2.3 million KM were acquired in the previous two years since this government was at the helm.
– Today, we once again confirm the clear determination of the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton to continuously strengthen the capacities of our police and create better conditions for their work. In the past two years, we acquired a total of 46 new vehicles, including the seven that we are putting into use, which significantly improves the mobility, readiness and operational efficiency of police structures in all parts of the canton – said Prime Minister Nezir Pivić.
The Prime Minister said that the safety of our citizens is one of our highest priorities and that the police must have modern equipment in order to be able to react quickly, perform their tasks professionally and provide the best possible protection to the community.
– This modernization process will not stop – we will continue to invest in equipment, infrastructure and training, because this is the only way we can build a safe environment for all residents of ZDK – emphasized Pivić.
ZDK Interior Minister Emir Vračo said that everything the Ministry and the Government are doing is aimed at equipping the police, that is, faster, better and more efficient work of police officers.
