Christopher Revak, a former paramedic who committed suicide in 2009 and is connected to at least two other cases of missing women, was identified as the person responsible, reports Unilad.
Deidre Harm disappeared on June 10, 2006, after leaving a bar in Wisconsin Rapids. Five months later, hunters found her remains in a wooded area near the town. This week, the Wood County Sheriff’s Office announced that the investigation into her death was officially closed.
District Attorney Jonathan E. Barnett stated in a letter to Sheriff Shawn Becker, “I consider this case closed. I believe I would have sufficient evidence to indict and, if Revak were still alive, to win a trial.”
Revak, who took his own life in a Missouri prison in 2009, was also accused of killing 36-year-old Renee Williams, a mother of three who disappeared in 2007 after a shift at a bar where Revak was allegedly seen the same night. Her body was never found.
Missouri Sheriff Chris Degase confirmed to Fox News Digital that Revak was under suspicion. “When I started working on Christopher Revak’s case, he was my suspect in the murder of Renee Williams, and I didn’t think it was his first time,” Degase said.
Revak’s name was also mentioned in the investigation into the disappearance of television anchor Jodi Huisentruit of Mason City, Iowa, who disappeared in 1995 on her way to work. Although she was legally declared dead in 2001, her body was never found.
“It appears we’re dealing with a serial killer,” said Sheriff Degase. “During the day as a paramedic he helped people and saved them, but there was also a dark side to Chris Revak.”
The family of the missing presenter is still searching for the truth. “True peace will come only when Jodi is found and justice is served,” they said. A $50,000 reward is still being offered for information leading to the solution to her disappearance.
