According to the mayor of Novi Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić, the completion of the project is expected in the next 90 days.
The municipality of Novo Sarajevo entrusted the preparation of the main project to the Faculty of Architecture in Sarajevo, with the active involvement of citizens through three public panels.
“I often say that we work for a more beautiful face of New Sarajevo, and this park is an example of that. The former neglected area, where there was an old bowling alley next to the ‘Hrasno’ Elementary School, is now becoming a horticulturally arranged park with benches, rest areas and recreational facilities – a real oasis for all generations,” Karić pointed out earlier.
The park will be divided into several functional zones, including space for socializing, outdoor activities and quiet rest.
The central part of the park will be occupied by a pavilion, intended for gatherings and smaller social events.
The value of the project is about 680,000 KM, and its opening is announced soon, which will give Trg heroja a completely new visual and functional identity.
