The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Monday that its forces advanced in the Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk, and that during the night they carried out massive strikes on Ukrainian military and industrial facilities.
Moscow said its troops were destroying what it claimed were “encircled Ukrainian formations” near the railway station and industrial zone in Pokrovsk, and that they had entered the Prigorodny urban area and established themselves there.
According to the ministry, the overnight strikes targeted a Ukrainian military airport, a military equipment repair base, military industrial facilities and gas infrastructure facilities that support them.
Moscow also said Russian troops pushed Ukrainian forces out of positions around another city, Kupyansk, state agencies reported.
