RS no more million inhabitants sound like a figure, but this is not just statistics, this is a serious alarm alarm, warns the waist. It is a sign that we remain without people, the future and opportunities to survive as society, it says BN.
According to the 2013 census, there were about 1,170,000 people in the RS. Today, demographers estimate that there are less than a million. Although official statistics are not recognized by these figures, the waist warns, that is a reality. For years, we have been recorded by negative natural increment and mass migration. Only last year, about 5,000 people died more than was born.
Young people go, families move, there are fewer children.
In the last ten years, elementary schools lost 13,000 students, which is about 600 divisions. The champions are less by 15 percent. More and more schools are closing their doors, and educators remain without work. The example is the elementary school, “Jovan Cvijić” in Drinjača near Zvornik, who had about 600 students before the war, and today there are only 96 of them.
In the central school in Drinjača, no student was enrolled in the first grade. We have no registered champions in the Zelinje area. We have four students in Kamenica area.
Everything is harder to function. So far, there have been no technological excess, but in some coming period, it may be one of the problems, says Goran Radulović, director of the elementary school, “Jovan Cvijić”.
Negative statistics have been alerting for years that the system shoots in the seams – from education to health. The lack of children and labor seriously threatens the sustainability of society warns sociologist Stanislav Tomić.
“We will be in a situation that we will not have workstar. We will be able to function in a society in some perspective. We will be difficult to maintain a pension system, such as education, will remain without work due to the lack of students,” says Tomić.
Experts believe that such indicators require urgent analysis, a new census and concrete measures.
The demographer Aleksandra Čavić points out that it is particularly worrying that we did not develop adequate mechanisms for dealing with demographic changes.
