The first flight was done yesterday when Ryanair Airline Plane landed on the International Airport Sarajevo with 55 passengers from Girona.
The Mayor of Sarajevo Predrag Puharić rated the new airline as very useful for Sarajevo and the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina among other things due to the proximity of Girona and Barcelona.
He added that with representatives of Girona agreed for future visits to the delivery of businessmen and tourism workers to deepen cooperation and open opportunities for new investments.
The President of the Province of Girona Miguel Noger pointed out that between the two regions there are extremely friendly links established in the war and the post-war period, and that now is the time to connect the tourism and economic.
He emphasized that this airliner Bosnia and Herzegovina opened doors not only towards Girona but also towards the entire Spain and the rest of the southern Europe.
Sarajevo Canton Minister Sarajevo Zlatko Mijatović said that there were joint activities with colleagues from Girona to promote a new airline, which should be profitable and sustainable to build relationship between two countries.
Director of the Airport Catalonia Jordi Candela and VD Director of the Sarajevo International Airport, Sanin Ramezić stated that the new airline will take place three times a week, in the future to develop and contribute to the better association of “our peoples”.
