Kremlin said Russian President Vladimir Putin was discussing Syria and Iran on Monday in a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyah.
It is stated that Putin emphasized the importance of preserving Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity and repeated Russia’s readiness to help negotiations on the solution of Iranian nuclear issues.
Russia, close ally of the former long-term Syrian ruler of Bashar al-Assad, who allegedly escaped into Moscow with his family, has two military bases in that country.
Russia is also close to Iran, strengthening military connections in the echo of the Kremlin Offensive in Ukraine.
Moscow, however, also strives for good relations with Israel, the home of the Grand Community of Russian origin, reports Reuters.
