After the funeral and burial of the murdered Aldine Jahic in Miljanovci, her parents addressed the public – Ibrahim and Mevlida Jahic.
We transmit their announcement in full:
– As parents, we experienced the greatest possible tragedy. We were left without a child, without our Aldina, our pride.
Our pain, our sorrow and the wounds in our hearts will never go away. They are softened by the hundreds of messages of condolence and support that we receive from our relatives, friends, but also from people throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina and the entire region.
Those messages, as well as everything that her friends, colleagues, acquaintances, professors and all those who had contact with her in any way, and who only speak about her in the nicest possible words, give us the strength to endure. We were aware that we had a beautiful child. Good-natured, hard-working, well-mannered, educated, who would never do anyone any harm. But when so many people confirm that it’s not just our opinion as parents, but that our child really was like that, it makes us proud again.
We thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts.
We are believers, we believe in God and accept His determination and trials. Now we are going through an ordeal that we would not wish on anyone in the world.
Our Aldina is gone. Our child was killed by a bully and a criminal.
We sincerely believe in God’s justice and His words that “he who kills an innocent man, who has not committed murder or disorder on earth, is as if he had killed all people”. We ask Him to punish the murderer as he deserves.
We trust in the justice of the hereafter, but we also seek justice in this world. We demand that justice from judicial institutions. The only justice, which will give us some kind of satisfaction, will be achieved by the strictest legally possible punishment for the criminal. Anything beyond that will be an injustice to which we will not agree.
We are aware that nothing will bring our Aldina back, but the maximum prison sentence must be given to the murderer not only for the sake of our child, but also as a warning to potential abusers and criminals, of which there are unfortunately more and more. If it contributes to saving the life of even one girl and woman, the punishment will have a purpose.
This will be our only public advertising and we will not respond to individual media inquiries. We ask all the media to be understanding for our sadness and pain.
Once again, we thank everyone for their support, especially our friends from Tuzla, Orašje, Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Mostar, Belgrade, Macedonia and the Czech Republic.
We ask the dear Allah to grant our Aldina paradise.
