Pjanić (34) played 12 games for CSKA in all competitions and recorded only one assist, which, according to the football analysts there, is too few for a player of such caliber.
Former coach of the Russian national team, Boris Ignatijev, spoke about Miralem Pjanic’s matches in the CSKA Moscow jersey, and he thinks that the former Bosnia and Herzegovina national team player has not justified his status as a reinforcement so far and that the reason may be insufficient physical preparation.
“For now, Pjanić has not justified his move to CSKA and his status as a world star. I think he’s a pretty smart person and up until now he’s acted on the principle of doing no harm to anyone. He hasn’t done anything special for the team yet, because he’s probably not physically ready yet. Or, after all, his career is already on the wane,” Ignatijev said.
He added that it is quite difficult to determine for sure what is wrong with him and that he only plays as much as he has to.
“After the winter break and preparations, it may be possible to speak more specifically. No one doubts that Pjanic knows how to play football. But in CSKA he behaves in the following way – I give as much as I need. He can certainly improve the game in the middle of the field, and we will see how Miralem will show himself in the spring”, said Ignatiev.
As a reminder, the experienced 34-year-old Pjanić signed a one-year contract with CSKA in September 2024. He previously played for European football giants such as Barcelona, Juventus, Roma and Lyon.
