The project holder is the Government of Sarajevo Canton, in partnership with the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo and the Institute for the Construction of Sarajevo Canton.
Planting 8372 trees, the number of genocide victims, is planned to form a living memorial space that will permanently testify to the largest crime committed on the soil of Europe after World War II. Each tree will carry the symbolism of life, resistance and duration, representing a collective memory that develops, grows and reminds of the importance of truth and memory.
