The Israeli Air Force carried out a new series of attacks on targets in Iran, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced.
According to these reports, on Saturday, the attacks hit an unspecified number of Iranian Grumman F-14 Tomcat fighter jets at Isfahan airport. At the same time, Iranian detection and air defense systems were also targeted.
Israel’s military said it would continue attacks on the government’s military capabilities in Iran and expand its air superiority.
These strikes came a day after, according to the IDF, 16 aircraft belonging to the elite Quds Force unit, part of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, were destroyed at Mehrabad Airport in Tehran, reports BBC.
Black rain over Tehran after the attack on oil warehouses
Residents of the Iranian capital woke up to thick black smoke after Israeli strikes hit Tehran’s oil depots overnight.
Journalist Fred Pleitgen reported that the rain falling over the city was mixed with oil particles, reports CNN.
According to the Israeli military, the targets of the attack were fuel facilities that supply various consumers, including military structures in Iran.
Iran: Trump misjudged the situation
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Iran’s willingness to defuse the conflict was “almost immediately destroyed” after what he said was the US president’s misjudgment of Iran’s capabilities and intentions.
On the other hand, US President Donald Trump rejected the threats of senior Iranian official Ali Larijani, who said that Washington would “pay the price” for US-Israeli attacks.
Trump stated that he was “not at all interested” in such messages, and that Iran’s military capabilities were almost destroyed.
Tensions are spreading to the region

In Kuwait, the military said it faced a wave of hostile drones, including an attack on fuel tankers at Kuwait International Airport.
In Dubai, United Arab Emirates, one person was killed after debris from an intercepted missile fell on a vehicle in Al Barsha neighborhood.
New strikes in Lebanon as well
Attacks were also reported in Lebanon during the night. Officials there say that an Israeli airstrike hit the hotel, killing four people.
It is estimated that almost half a million people have been displaced by the conflict so far.
The Israeli opposition calls for attacks on oil fields
Israeli opposition politician Yair Lapid has called on the government to destroy all of Iran’s oil fields in order to paralyze the country’s economy.
At the same time, the Israeli army announced that it was working to intercept missiles launched from Iran and that it had carried out an attack on the Quds Force in Lebanon, reports Factor.
