The Otok Olympic pool will start the November swimming school cycles next week, on November 5 for the Monday-Wednesday-Friday group, while for the Tuesday-Thursday group it will start on November 11.
The price of the first cycle is 90.00 KM, or 7.5 KM per hour, the price of one cycle for two children from the same family is 120 KM, and for three children from the same family the total price is 180.00 KM.
The latest program that started this season is related to the education of assistants to swimmers – children and people with disabilities who use swimming as rehabilitation.
– Namely, licensed trainers and instructors for working in water for people with disabilities of JP “Olimipjski bazen Otoka” doo (Halliwick concept and HSA Handicapped Scuba Association), will be happy to make their knowledge and experience available to all interested individuals who want to train as assistants to swimmers with developmental disabilities. The Halliwick Method is a unique approach to educating all people, especially those with disabilities, how to participate in water activities, move independently and learn to swim. This type of training is often conducted in homogenized groups, which encourages social interaction and a sense of community and belonging – it was announced from the Olympic pool of Otok.
It is about group-individual work in the pool within a homogeneous group.
This specific training represents practical knowledge for a lifetime applicable in working with children and people with disabilities, assisting them during swimming training. This means that the participants of this short program get an insight into the specific method of group-individual work with swimmers and non-swimmers, starting with the first steps in the water, such as getting rid of the fear of water.
Therefore, this program is designed not only for people specialized in working with people with developmental disabilities, but also for their parents/guardians.
– Our licensed trainers have undergone extensive training and possess the necessary knowledge and skills to safely and effectively implement the Halliwick concept. This ensures that exercises are performed correctly, reducing the risk of injury and maximizing the benefits of therapy. Since JP Otoka Olympic Pool doo is continuously working on the implementation of the Water Rehabilitation Project for children and persons with developmental disabilities, part of the parents-guardians of persons participating in the Project, come as an escort to their children, in order to stay with them at the swimming pool while their swimming training lasts.
