Italian Premier League side Milan appointed Portuguese Sergio Conceiça as their new coach on Monday, shortly after dismissing his compatriot Paulo Fonseca, who had held the position since July.
He also arrived at the club with him Vedran Runjeformer goalkeeper of the Croatian national team, who will work as a goalkeeper coach, reports Index.
Fifty-year-old Conceiçao signed a contract until June 30, 2026, Milan announced in a press release. Milan is currently eighth in the standings, 14 points behind leaders Atalanta. Conceiçao knows Serie A because he played there as a player from 1998 to 2004, with Lazio, Parma and Inter Milan.

The former Portugal international has spent his entire coaching career in his home country, with the exception of six months in the 2016/17 season, which he spent on the Nantes bench. He’s been free since he left FC Porto, the club he led from 2017 to 2024 and with which he won three league titles and four Portuguese Cups.
The Portuguese coach has only a few days to prepare for his new team’s next match on January 3 in Riyadh, where Milan play semi-final of the Italian Super Cup against Juventusin which one of his sons, Francisco, has been playing since this summer.
