International minor football memorial tournament “Asim Ferhatović Hase”, 33rd in a row, will be held on December 27 and 28 in the small hall of KSC Skenderija in Sarajevo.
The tournament is organized by Football Club Vratnik in cooperation with FK Sarajevo, in memory of the great BiH. football and one of the best football players from this area – Asim Ferhatović.
The president of FK Vratnik Mesud Jusufović said at today’s press conference that the tournament will feature players who are 35 years old and older, because the clubs could not send younger players to the tournament for objective reasons.
– They were the game bearers of their clubs, proven, experienced players who give importance to this tournament and Hasset’s character and work. The fact that the City of Sarajevo gave him a street, and FK Sarajevo named the stadium after him, says Jusufović, how great a man Ferhatović was.
Mufid Zimić, general secretary of FC Vratnik, thanked the fans of Željeznicar and Sarajevo because last year at this tournament they “showed how to support their club” without causing any incidents.
FK Sarajevo legend Mirsad Fazlagić recalled the time when Ferhatović played for Sarajevo.
– I played with Hasset for six years. From 1960 to 1966, he guided and protected younger players with his authority and made a great contribution to the creation of the team that won the first Yugoslav championship title. It is difficult to talk about him as a person, because, after him, I have never met anyone with such good qualities – said Fazlagić.
Eight teams will participate in the tournament, which will be divided into two groups. The teams of Sarajevo, Novi Pazar, Visoca Bosna and Vratnik will compete in group A, while Željezničar, Velež, Čelik and Iskra will play in group B.
