On this occasion, addressing the audience, he reminded that Ramadan is a time of self-reflection, spiritual self-control and a return to primal human values.
– Each of us here knows that Ramadan has deep connections not only with our faith, but also with our worldly affairs. If we were to observe this month through the prism of our obligation to seek profit, we would see that the principles advocated by Ramadan and fasting in it, such as patience, discipline, ethics and transparency, are actually the same principles that rule in the business world, on which we build our business relationships – said the reisul-ulema.
He also pointed out that, along with all the messages it brings, Ramadan also reminds us of the importance of belonging to the family, community, and solidarity between people.
– As people who carry an important legacy in our community, you have the privilege, but also the obligation, to be advocates and initiators of good, which you are. Our faith teaches us that the charity we do to others returns to us. The Most High says in the Qur’an: “Can the reward for good be something other than good” – remarked reisul-ulema Kavazović.
On behalf of the entire Islamic community and his own name, he thanked the present businessmen for their dedication to the good and strengthening of the Community.
– Your support to the Islamic community through congregations in their renewal and development gives strength to our people and community to be stronger and better every day. I would especially like to ask you to get involved in the development of our schools and kindergartens in your congregations. If you plan to leave some legacy in your hometown, let it be an investment in a school or a kindergarten – said the reisul-ulema.
Referring to the importance of the Islamic community in our nation, he described it as a “common house that we inherited from our fathers”.
– It is the oldest institution in our nation, as long as we know ourselves. Let’s protect it and improve it. We are not perfect people, we are born and we die, but it remains a legacy to our children, our sons and daughters. We teach them that they have an obligation to the Islamic community, that is, to themselves – said reisul-ulema Kavazović.
He described the success of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s businessmen as “righting our people and standing on their own feet” after difficult times.
