In the last meeting of the 18th round of the German football championship, Augsburg and Freiburg played 2-2, and the second goal for the guests was scored by Croatian representative Igor Matanović.
Interestingly, all four goals were scored in the second half. The home team was 2-0 after only four minutes of play, but Freiburg managed to equalize.
The home team took the lead in the 47th minute with a goal Alexis Claude-Mauriceand just two minutes later Elvis Rexhbecaj scored for 2-0. He reduced it Yito Suzuki in the 59th minute, and three minutes later he equalized Matanović.
The guests took a corner, Johan Manzambi headed in, the home striker Michael Gregoritsch blocked the ball with his hand on the goal line, but only to Matanović who scored to make it 2-2. Gregoritsch received a yellow card for handball, and if Matanović had not scored to make it 2-2, he would have received a red card.
It was Matanović’s fifth goal of the seasonfourth in the Bundesliga, and second in the last three games. In the 78th minute, the Croatian striker once again shook the opponent’s net, but the goal was disallowed because the ball crossed the goal line at the beginning of the action.
It is for the home team Kristijan Jakic played the first half, but during the break he remained in the dressing room due to an injury, while Nediljko Labrović did not perform. Matanović played the entire match for the guests.
Freiburg is eighth with 24 points, while Augsburg in 15th position with 16 points.
In the first weekly meeting Stuttgart and Union Berlin played 1-1. The home team took the lead in the 59th minute with a goal by Chris Fuhrich. In the 80th minute, Angelo Stiller had a great chance to perhaps solve the question of the winner, but he shot over the goal.
Three minutes later, the guests equalized, and the scorer was Woo-Yeong Jeong, who did not want to celebrate a goal against his former team. The Korean striker could have turned the score around in the 88th minute, but Alexander Nubel reacted brilliantly.
Josip Juranović played for the Berlin team until the 69th minute.
Stuttgart is fourth with 33 points, as are Hoffenheim in third position, while Union Berlin is in eighth place with 24 points.
Bayern is at the top with 50 points, and Borussia Dortmund is in second position with 39 points.
