On Saturday, the management of the Croatian basketball club “Capljina” addressed the public with an open letter in which it expresses its dissatisfaction with the postponed games, the lack of response from the Herceg-Bosna Basketball Association and the non-respect of its rights as a club and members of the association.
Letter signed by the Board of Directors of HKK “Čapljina” we transmit in full:
Today there was supposed to be a game in the City Sports Hall 8th round of the KSHB Youth League (HKK Čapljina – HK Tomislav), but unfortunately that did not happen. The youth league match has been postponedand no one from the leadership of the Herceg-Bosna Basketball Association he did not give any valid reason.
This is already the second time that a match has been canceled in the youth league without a valid reason, even though all the conditions for playing a KSHB Youth League match have been met.
Question for the leadership of our parent basketball association Herceg-Bosna (president, vice-president of the Association – whatever they are, but they are the leading people of the association at the moment): Who does not allow children from HKK Čapljina to play league and what is the reason for that?
Gentlemen, we will not allow you to do that. There are coaches who always find opponents and are happy to play friendly matches, all with one goal – the development of young players who will one day be the leaders of our Herceg-Bosna League. I also ask, who is that person and on whose order was the match of the senior team HKK Čapljina postponed, which was was supposed to play on Sunday, 26.1. starting at 4:00 p.m. against the HKK Široki team in Čapljina!? Also with what reason for the delay?
It should be emphasized that HKK Čapljina is ensured conditions for all these matches – hall, security, police, media – who will bear these costs? The Alliance and the leadership of the Alliance?
Women’s Croatian basketball club Čapljina you did not allow him to be a member of the Herceg-Bosna Basketball Association. Why have you not given us any answer to this day?
We will repeat: ŽHKK Čapljina has sent you a valid Club Registration (the club was registered in 2017), a Certificate from the Court, Extracts with a valid re-registration, a Certificate with a request for admission to the Association, a Certificate of membership payment, do you need anything else, maybe yes ŽHKK Čapljina votes for you?
Or it just suits you when we regularly make payments to the Association, unlike some clubs who do not do that or, even more shamefully, do not play in the league at all, but have the right to vote (yes – they are eligible and have greater rights “Žkk Ljubuški”)

Who doesn’t love basketball so much in Čapljina? does not allow basketball to be played in Capljina? Is basketball more popular in Grude (with the current president of the Association, from whom we do not hear a single voice and do not see a single letter of explanation)? Do you prefer basketball in Rama (with the vice president of the Association).
There are more questions:
Will the legality of the League itself be recognized at the very end and will our champion be able to achieve placement in the Premier League of BiH?
Will our teams in the youth league be able to reach the finals of the championship for the champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina?
We have doubts about this way and the management of the league in this way. And then you will be gentlemenand called by first and last name and believe me, they will bear the consequences of their work, that is, NOT working.
Dear Sirs: Basketball was played in Čapljina when I believe some of them were not even born, let alone knew or seen a basketball. Basketball is still played in Čapljina today, thanks to the ability of the club’s management, coaches and the desire to develop players.
Basketball will be played in Čapljina even when you are no longer in those honorable positions that you hold at this moment, and you are doing it to a great shame of our Herceg-Bosna Basketball Association. HKK Čapljina is a club of words and stands behind its actions – proudly and honorably.
