Leipzig defeated Sporting 2:1 on their home field and thus achieved their first victory, but also their first points in this season of the Champions League.
The German team took the lead in the 19th minute with a goal by Šeško, and in the 75th, Gyokeres scored to make it 1:1. Just three minutes later, Poulsen scored to give Leipzig the win.
The German team has now advanced to the 30th position with three points, but even before this round, it was left with no mathematical chances to advance. Sporting is 19th with 10 points.
Shakhtar also celebrated their home victory, beating Brest 2:0 in Gelsenkirchen. The goals for Shakhtar were scored by Kevin in the 18th minute and Sudakov from the penalty in the 37th minute.
Shakhtar is now 27th with seven points and has retained any chance of reaching the TOP 24. Brest has 13 points and holds 11th place before the last round of the league stage.
