BiH independence Day is celebrated in memory of the referendum held on 29. February and 1. March 1992. years, when citizens decided on the future of the country.
The referendum issue was a selection between remaining in the former Yugoslavia and the establishment of sovereign and independent Bosnia and Herzegovina, the state of equal citizens of all nationalities.
A total of 2,073,568 citizens came to vote, which consisted of 63.7 percent of the electoral body, and a huge majority of 99.44 percent pleaded independence.
These results opened the journey to the International Award of Bosnia and Herzegovina as an independent state.
