The 22-year-old Serbian national team player and former player of RK Zagreb, Miloš Kos, who caused injuries to Matej Mandić, due to which this young goalkeeper will miss the World Cup, issued a statement in which he admitted the mistake and apologized.

Dear Sir, I would like to inform the entire handball and sports public that in the new calendar year put on the jersey of the German Bundesliga club Erlangen. In addition to the several options I had to continue my career from the Bundesliga, the rest of Europe and Asia, I chose the one that I believe will be the best for my further development.
Going to the best league in the world is a dream come true for every young handball player. It is also satisfaction for the great work I have invested in my career, but also the result of the dedication of all those people who helped me reach this level, starting with my native Dubica, Ljubuški, Zagreb and the Serbian national team. I am immensely grateful to all of them.
I hope that the year 2025 will be better than the previous one. Behind me is a difficult period in which there was time to reconsider and remorse for the action I took. I take this opportunity to publicly apologize first of all a friend and boyfriend I grew up withboth in Ljubuški and in Zagreb, Matej Mandić. I wish him a speedy recovery, I hope he will be ready to defend as soon as possible and make the great career he deserves in the years ahead.
I would like to swill also tell his former teammates, but also to thank for the support I received from the first day when I put on the RK Zagreb shirt. Thanks to the people from the club, all the coaches and fans for everything in the past two years. I felt Zagreb as my club, a place where I got the chance to play with the best and I can understand the resentment and anger after everything that happened in the dressing room that day after the game with Nantes.
I made a big mistake. That’s it also a great life lesson which, obviously, I had to learn. I am 22 years old, I have seasons and seasons ahead of me in which I will try to be remembered as a good athlete, but above all a human being. Sincerely, Miloš Kos.
