Minister Konakovic emphasized that we appreciate the attention that France pays to the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and its strong support to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He especially thanked the Minister Haddad on the engagement and organization of video conferencing was held seven days during which with his colleagues from Germany, Italy, the United States, as well as the EU, the Republika Srpska.
Minister Haddad thanked Minister Konaković for a warm welcome that France gives the full support to the European perspective of Bosnia and Herzegovina and is ready to assist during the EU integration process, with the methods of both parties acceptable. Minister Haddad pointed out that the full integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina and other Western Balkans in the EU is crucial for the insurance of the long-term security and stability of Europe and that this is the vital interest of all countries on the continent.
After the meeting, ministers attended the agreement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Republic of France on the establishment and activities of the French Development Agency (AFD) in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The agreement was initialed by the Assistant Minister for International and Consular Jobs of the Foreign Affairs of BiH Frano Planinić and Ambassador France in Bosnia and Herzegovina François Delmas.
The agreement will be addressed to a further procedure according to the Council of Ministers.
During the meeting, mutual satisfaction was expressed by expanding the engagement of the French Agency for Development (AFD), established for the first time to establish its representative office in BiH, and operates in more than 80 countries over the network of about 60 local representations.
The French Development Agency specializes in the development of the private sector through various projects, from joint funding to project management. The Agency increases the competitiveness of market entities through its manner of financing in the international market (for example by withdrawing funds from the World Bank and other investment funds) and reduces the dependence on the expensive capital that is placed through commercial banks.
