At a festive event held in the Bihać Cultural Center, the City Sports Association announced the most successful athletes for 2024.
The title of the most successful female athlete went to Ivona Murk, a member of the Virus dance club, who achieved an outstanding result by winning fourth place at the World Championship in Poland.
In addition to the main prize, prizes were also awarded in other categories. The most successful junior is Nedim Malkoč, while the most successful junior is Lamija Hamulić. In the senior category, the awards went to Orhan Bajbutović and Ivona Murk.
Special and special awards were presented to national champions, the most successful teams, clubs, coaches, sports workers and competitors of the Association for Sports and Recreation of the Disabled (SSRI). Posthumous awards were given to meritorious sports workers Mersad Ćoralić and Jusuf Midžić.
– This award is proof to me that hard work pays off, but also motivation to achieve even better results every year. I thank the Association for recognizing my work and achievements – said Murk after the ceremony.
The mayor of Bihac, Elvedin Sedić, said that he is proud of Bihac athletes, coaches and clubs, as well as parents who are the key support for their children.
– Our goal is to provide them with adequate conditions for training, which is why we are constantly increasing funds for sports. We have confirmed this with this year’s budget, through the completion of existing projects and the start of new projects – emphasized Mayor Sedić.
