US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that Iran had asked if US sanctions against the country could be lifted.
– We are ready to hold talks in the international framework, but not if they say that you cannot have (nuclear) science or the right to defend yourself (with missiles) or we will bomb you – said Pezeshkian.
Iran has repeatedly rejected the possibility of negotiations over its military capabilities, including its missile program, and the idea of giving up any uranium enrichment on its soil.
– We want to live in this world in peace and security, but not to be humiliated, and it is not acceptable that they impose on us whatever they want, and we only serve them – said Pezeshkian.
Israel sees Iran as an existential threat. Iran, however, maintains that its ballistic missiles, with a range of up to 2,000 kilometers, are an important deterrent and retaliatory force against the United States, Israel and other potential regional targets.
