The symbolic laying of stone fundaments today is in Zavidovići, the beginning of the construction of the new building of the Center for Social Work. It is a significant investment with a total value of 613,000 KM, which they jointly fund the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton through the Ministry of Labor, Social Policy and Refugees, and the city of Zavidovići.
The foundation officer was passed by the Prime Minister of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Cantonal Minister of Labor, Social Policy, Antonio Simunovic, Federal Minister Adnan Delic, Mayor of Zavidović and Director of the Center for Social Work Mirnes Husanović. The event was also attended by the Cantonal Minister for Economy Samir Šibonjić.
Prime Minister ZDK Nezir Pivić pointed out the importance of this project for the local community.
– It is my pleasure to witness the beginning of a very important project today, and a special honor and satisfaction is that almost all levels of government participate in it. This shows synergies that can create positive changes. I believe that in the future we will testify to similar projects. For the first time, the Government announced a public invitation for the construction and renovation of the centers for social work last year, and with that practice we will continue in the future. Our commitment is to strengthen the social protection system – said Prime Minister Pivić.
Minister of Labor, Social Policy and Refugees ZDK Antonio Šimunović emphasized that this is only one in a series of support projects for social work.
– The Government of the CPC last year launched a public call for construction and upgrade centers for social work in the cantonal area. We will continue with support for such projects. I hope that we will be on the opening of the new center in Zavidović for next year. Also, through the budget rebalance, the Ministry has decided by an additional 70,000 KM for the material costs of all social work centers, which shows that I believe in their work as the first line of protection of the most endangered – said Minister Simunovic.
Mayor Zavidović Erna Merdić Smailhodžić expressed satisfaction that citizens of Zavidović would receive modern conditions for the provision of social services. She emphasized that “this project clearly show our commitment that the city of Zavidovići gets new and quality conditions for the provision of services that fall into the domain of social work.”
The Federal Minister of Work and Social Policy Adnan Delic said that the strength of society is in institutions and people who wear them.
– If these people could do their job, we need to give them space, framework and conditions. That is why such investments are important – Minister Delic pointed out.
The construction project of the new building of the Center for Social Work is not only an infrastructure, but also a social investment, with the aim of strengthening the social protection system and common solidarity.
