Rodrigo Bentancur (27), the defensive midfielder of Tottenham and the Uruguay national team, stunned the spectators and players of the first semi-final match of the League Cup, which Tottenham and Liverpool played in London (1:0).
His bizarre injurywhich judging by the player’s reaction seemed terrible, is the main theme of the match.
In the 6th minute of the game during a corner kick for the home team Bentancur went for the crossbut instead it is jerked his head strangely and ended up on the ground and there he remained lying motionless, although no one touched him. It was a bizarre and shocking scene, writes Index.

Pedro Porro he was the closest to his teammate and immediately understood that it was no ordinary injury. He turned Bentancur on his side, after which doctors rushed to the field and gave him first aid. Bentancur was given oxygen, after which he carried off the lawn on a stretcher.

A shot from another angle shows that Bentancur made faces before he tried to reach the ball with his head and fell, so the English media first speculated that the Uruguayan suffered stroke.
After the game though good news has arrived. Tottenham announced that Bentancur was conscious and communicating: “We can confirm that Rodrigo is conscious and speaking. He will undergo further tests at the hospital.”
