– On a monthly basis, the four to eight new cases of lung cancer, which compared to previous years in the absolute increase – confirmed by Dr. Sladjan Miranović, specialist in pulmonary diseases in the JZU “Health Center” Brčko.
He says that the lung cancer is mainly revealed in an advanced stage when surgical therapy is impossible.
Miranović states that cigarettes have about 180 harmful ingredients, which is why smoking is one of the main causes of lung cancer, but also should not ignore the external environmental factors.
In the last month, the number of patients with respiratory infections has been added, Miranović adds, stating that a seasonal increase in the number of patients is expected, but that the prevention and protection measures need to be strengthened.
Given that there is no register of oncological patients, Miranovic points out that his establishment would be very important for monitoring and coordinating patient treatment.
