It starts abruptly with high temperature, general weaknesses and muscle pain, and other symptoms are fever, headaches, sore throat and cough.
Every deterioration of these symptoms requires medical attention, says Prim. Musa and adds that flu can worsen already existing diseases such as heart diseases, diabetes and other chronic diseases, and some of the complications of the flu are pneumonia and brain inflammation.
As for the flu vaccine, it notes that it is safe and effective and protects from severe forms of diseases and prevents the development of complications.
– We especially recommend immunization against the flu, especially risk groups, and these are people older than 65 years old, wards and employees of homes for older, chronic patients regardless of age. The flu vacation may also consider pregnant women – emphasizes dr. Musa, stating that it takes up to 14 days to create immunity.
He adds that the Institute of Immunization against the flu began in October 2024. year, and from the beginning of the flu season, over 28,200 dose of the flu vaccine.
The ideal time for immunization against the flu is in October, ie in early autumn, before spreading the flu virus, but immunization can be carried out later, until the flu virus circulates.
