The airport in Lithuania’s capital, Vilnius, was immediately closed after weather balloons from neighboring Belarus entered its airspace, Lithuania’s National Crisis Management Center said.
This is the fourth time this month that Vilnius airport has to be closed, reports Reuters.
Previously, Vilnius and Kaunas airports were closed last Friday, when the National Center reported that dozens of balloons were spotted by radar systems.
Also, Vilnius airport was closed on October 21 and 5, when balloons in the capital’s airspace carried smuggled cigarettes from Belarus, Lithuanian authorities announced.
