The great Slovenian Domen Prevc is the winner of the 74th edition of the New Year’s Tour of the Four Jumpers.
The 26-year-old won the overall ranking of the tour with a total of 1195.6 points, even 42.3 points ahead of the second-placed Jan Horl. Prevc won in Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, while he was second in Austria’s Innsbruck and Bischofshofen.
Prevc returns from the tour “heavier” by 162,525 euros. Victories in Oberstdorf and Garmisch earned him 18,175 euros each, second place in Innsbruck 11,500, and second place in Bischofshofen 14,675 euros. On top of all that came the main prize of 100,000 euros for the winner of the Four Ski Jumps.
The best ski jumper this season thus became only the third Slovenian to win the New Year’s Tour. Before him, only Primož Peterka (1996/97) and Domen’s brother Peter (2015/16) did it.
