Officially the oldest club in the world, founded in 1867. has been in bankruptcy since October, and the management announced today that an agreement has been reached with a potential buyer, the BBC reported.
Bord began his career working for gambling companies before earning $4.3 million playing poker. He now runs Short Circuit Science, a company that uses artificial intelligence for sports analytics, and was involved in an advisory role when Sheffield United was sold this summer.
Bord also has stakes in Spanish second division club Cordobi and Bulgarian club Septemvri Sofia. His offer must pass the test of the English Premier League owner and director and could face obstacles due to his past involvement in gambling, reports Hina.
Former Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is also among the candidates to buy Sheffield Wednesday.
The club has been stripped of points twice since going bankrupt, leaving Sheffield Wednesday at the bottom of the Championship table with minus nine points and almost certain relegation to the third tier.
