During the event, the Sarajevo Canton Health Development Strategy 2025-2030 was presented. with a special focus on the role of local communities in improving health care, disease prevention and health promotion.
The event brought together representatives of the KS Ministry of Health, mayors of municipalities, health councils and directors of public health institutions.
Cantonal Health Minister Enis Hasanović emphasized that the goal of the strategy is to strengthen primary health care, connect health institutions, optimize and digitize costs, and prioritize prevention.
– We want to have a clear strategy of where we are in five years and beyond – said Hasanović.
As the speakers said, the health care system, by definition, represents the totality of social and technological relations and processes that are undertaken in order to meet health needs, and finally, to improve and improve the health of the population.
As Prof. Ph.D. Aida Pilav, the modern trend in the science and skills of managing the health care system includes the complex concept of responsible management in health care.
– Responsible management is a clear determination of the vision and further direction of development, and in connection with this, taking legislative, political, fiscal, professional and social measures that should ensure the optimal level of ensuring citizens’ rights to health care – said Dr. Pilaf.
According to her, responsible strategic management takes place in accordance with legal frameworks, and in this regard, a consistent health care policy is necessary, which will persist in the already initiated changes and improvements in the health sector, and respond readily to current and turbulent changes in the environment.
At the meeting, it was pointed out that the health needs of the population are unpredictable, sudden, unexpected and often unwanted, as well as that health care in Sarajevo Canton faces a number of challenges, including the financial sustainability of the system, improving the quality of services and improving and strengthening the public health sector.
Considering the aforementioned accelerated socio-economic, demographic, epidemiological, management, informational and technological transitions and changes in the country and the environment, it was emphasized that there is a need to harmonize the legal framework with new health needs, with the obligation to comply with the principle of harmonization with the regulations of the European Union.
