Activities on the implementation of energy efficiency measures and the installation of equipment that uses renewable energy sources at selected school facilities, planned by the Memorandum of Cooperation for 2025 between the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports ZDK and Caritas Switzerland, have been fully completed.
The implementation of the measures will continue in the coming years at individual school facilities, in accordance with the planned dynamics.
The total value of investments in all facilities included in the Memorandum for the year 2025 is approximately 300,000 KM, with equal financial participation by the Ministry and Caritas Switzerland.
Today, the handover of completed works on several school buildings took place. At the “Abdulvehab Ilhamija” elementary school in Kalošević near Jelah, energy efficiency measures were implemented, which include the rehabilitation of part of the roof structure with accompanying sheet metal and the insulation of the ceiling slab. For the coming years, the installation of the thermal facade and replacement of the carpentry is planned in 2026, and the installation of the heat pump in 2027.
In Raduša Elementary School “Huso Hodžić” in Tešnje, a complete energy renovation was completed, including replacement of carpentry, construction of a thermal facade, renovation of the roof structure and installation of an air-water heat pump.
A photovoltaic power plant was built at the Moštre-Radovlje Primary School “Mula Mustafa Bašeskija” in Visoko, which will produce electricity for the needs of the previously installed heat pump after the school enters the status of a prosumer.
In the elementary school “Ahmed Muradbegović” in Donji Kakanj, the exterior carpentry was replaced as part of activities to increase the building’s energy efficiency, while the construction of a thermal facade is planned for 2026.
The handover of works began in Tešnje, in Kalošević, after which the delegation also visited schools in Raduša, Donji Kakanj and Radovlje near Visoko, where successfully executed works were noted and activities agreed for continued cooperation in the coming years.
