– Only those who do not understand the technological situation of today’s war propose the tampon zone – said the green journalist on Friday, writes BBC.
His comment was followed by the report that European leaders consider a tampon zone 40 kilometers wide as part of a possible truce or long-term agreement. The war in Ukraine has grown into a conflict that is largely determined by drone technology, and green emphasized that a tampon-zone has already existed due to the threat of attacking drones near the front line.
Tampon zones usually create demilitarized spaces between warring parties, such as those between the North and South Korea or the physical boundary such as the Iron Curtain, which was shared by the Soviet Union and West after World War II.
According to politics, European diplomats stated that the proposal among military and civilian officials envisaged the territory belt in Ukraine, which would be blocked between two armies.
However, he said, he emphasized that there is already space on both sides of the front line where heavy weapons cannot act due to the risk of drone attack.
– Today, our heavy weapons are located at a distance of more than 10 kilometers from each other, because all guesses drones – he said.
– This buffer-zone, and as I call the “dead zone”, and the other “gray zone” already exists – he added green.
Each such agreement could also mean that Ukraine had to give a share of a part of the territory within the zone, which is green also rejected.
– If Russia wants a greater distance from us, they can withdraw into the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine – said Ukrainian president.
He added that Russia was not ready for diplomacy, but seeking ways to postpone the end of the war.
The Diplomatic Initiative led by the United States with the aim of terminating Russian invasion, which lasts more than 40 months, is losing effective. The high-level encounter last week between the US President Donald Trump, Zelenic and European leaders awakened hope to the possible summit of Ukrainian and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
