German football strategist Jürgen Klopp will work as a television commentator for MagentaTV during the World Cup, which will be held in Canada, Mexico and the USA next year, according to sports magazine Kicker.
He embodies pure football and he is a world class coach who wrote incredible success stories with Dortmund and LiverpoolDeutsche Telekom CEO Rodrigo Diehl told Kicker.
Telekom has already signed a contract with the football star Thomas Müller.
MagentaTV will broadcast all World Cup matches next yearand viewers will follow the broadcasts with comments from a top team of experts, while Telekom’s online channel is only available to subscribers.
If Thomas Müller and Jürgen Klopp do appear together in front of the cameras, the whole of football-obsessed Germany “They’re going to listen very carefully,” Diehl saidmember of Telekom’s board of directors.
Since he finished his coaching career in LiverpoolKlopp has worked primarily as global head of football for drinks company Red Bull, and has now been given a temporary additional job at Telekom, where he will be able to use his previous television experience.
The 58-year-old coach, who coached Mainz and Borussia Dortmund in the German Bundesliga, worked as a commentator for German broadcaster ZDF at the 2006 World Cup and Euro 2008.
From 2015 to 2024, he wrote one of the most beautiful stories with the English Liverpool, with whom he won the Champions League and the Club World Cup in 2019 and the Premier League in 2020.
