Italian skier Sofia Goggia reached a new victory in the Super-G discipline at the Audi FIS World Cup, which was held in Val d’Isère, on Sunday. Alice Robinson was in second place, while Lindsey Vonn was third.
Goggia reached her third podium of the season with an outstanding ride and a time of 1:20.24, which was 15 hundredths faster than Robinson and 36 hundredths faster than the experienced Vonn.
Elveda Muzaferiathe best female alpine skier from Bosnia and Herzegovina, finished today’s race on 37th place and thus remained on a total of seven points in the FIS World Cup, which she won last weekend in St. Moritz.
It’s today the path was very difficultwith a lot of wind and very hot weather, so it was difficult to get up to speed. It would have been very good if the conditions had been a little different and if I had managed to keep the skiing from the other sector, but it is only the second weekend of the competition and I am sure that there will be many more good results this season, said Muzaferia, who compared to today’s winner was slower by two seconds and 76 hundredths.
Downhill races were also held yesterday in Val d’Isère, in which she won Cornelia Huetter, while Muzaferia finished in 40th position.
For the fastest female skiers in the world, including 26-year-old Elvedina, a holiday break follows, and the fourth downhill of the season and the third Super-G will be run on January 10 and 11 in Austria, on the Zauchensee ski resort.
