The German Football Association (DFB) has fined German clubs in three professional leagues a total of 12 million euros for the 2024/25 season, adding that the fines are mainly due to the use of pyrotechnics by fans, dpa reports.
The amount of money for fines is slightly lower than the previous season.
The biggest fines were paid in Cologne, which had to pay slightly more than 900,000 euros, followed by Eintracht Frankfurt, and Hamburger SV, which earned its fines in the second German league.
However, fines increased in the third division, mainly thanks to Dynamo Dresden fans, who cost the club just over €400,000.
Clubs can use a certain percentage of the fine for violence prevention measures, which means that the DFB ended up receiving around eight million euros.
Six million euros of that were donated to football foundations.
