Amar Gegić, a 26-year-old representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina, spoke about his health, his arrival in Zadar, plans for the future, the BiH national team and other topics.
Gegić, who was sidelined by a heel injury, gave an interview to Croatian Tportal.
– I do therapy with a physiotherapist every day and together we do our best to recover as quickly and as well as possible. I still can’t specify the date of my return to the field, but I hope it will be soon,’ said BH. representative for Tportal.
He arrived in Zadar this summer.
– After the conversation with coach Danijel Jusup, I quickly understood what my role would be in the team, and I think that this is something that I needed at that moment. Also, he explained to me how many people in Zadar live for basketball, and that story really delighted me, so I didn’t think about it for long. In short, my decision was very simple.
Together with the BiH national team, Gegić recently defeated Croatia in Skenderija.
– Croatia has a richer basketball history than BiH. At the moment, however, we have a better team, so such a final result did not surprise us. In my opinion, this is a realistic reflection of the current situation between these two national teams, says the member of Zadar, who hopes to qualify for Eurobasket:
– This team has been together for five years and we certainly have the quality to play against the biggest European teams. After all, that was already proven by the victories against France and Slovenia. In the upcoming games, we will do our best to qualify for the Eurobasket. It is a great pity that one of the three national teams – namely France, BiH and Croatia – will not be able to win a place in the review of the best European national teams.
