On this occasion, the head of the Office for Social Care of the Rijaset of the Islamic Community in BiH, Ibrahim Malanović, congratulated the scholarship holders, reis-ul-ulema Husein ef. Kavazović and the representative of the Islamic Community of Bosniaks in Norway, Dervish ef. Vareslija.
Malanović said that Rijaset of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina awards 200 scholarships every year – 120 to students, 50 to students, while 30 scholarships are intended for students with developmental disabilities.
The decision of Rijaset also awards an additional 27 scholarships to students of the generation in madrasas and high schools, 10 scholarships to children from Srebrenica in the Day Center in Potočari, and 10 scholarships to students in Novi Pazar.
– The Islamic community also awards scholarships through other organizational units – congregations, majlis, muftis, madrasas and other institutions. On an annual level, we provide about 2,000 scholarships – Malanović pointed out.
Reisu-l-ulema Kavazović reminded that funds are allocated from Bejtul-mal for the poor, the abandoned, the endangered and the unfortunate, as well as for additional support for scholarships for pupils and students.
– In this way, we show concern for our future, because we invest in the future from the present. Today, dear pupils and students, we successfully pass that exam and our joy is all the greater. We have estimated that the education and professional training of our youth is one of the biggest pledges for the future. We expect you to study hard and live in accordance with the values of your culture and religion – said Kavazović.
Representative of the Islamic Community of Bosniaks in Norway, Dervish ef. Varešlija, with sincere congratulations to the scholarship recipients, emphasized the importance of scholarships and the sincere desire of the Bosnian diaspora to support pupils and students in their education.
– Our diaspora wants to help the youth in order to have a brighter and better future and to create better living conditions. People in the diaspora often do not know the students and pupils who are awarded scholarships, but they want to be part of a positive story, help and ease the burden of education for them and their parents, which is why they allocate funds for Beitul-mal – Vareslija said.
