Digital identity and electronic signature are becoming the basis for the use of modern electronic services in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Activation is possible in one of the five regional centers of the Agency for the identification documents, records and data exchange (IDDEEA), and the whole procedure lasts only a few minutes.
Once officials enter personal information, via mobile applications, citizens receive access to their documents and electronic signature in digital form. Those who have already passed the procedure, such as Adnan Draganić, point out that the process is simple and far more efficient than bureaucratic procedures to which citizens are used to.
“The process is very simple, it lasted a few minutes. All you need is a personal card and e-mail address, and you get the other information in iddeea,” said Draganić.
Iddeea emphasizes that the goal is to facilitate citizens access to new services, with a safe use of qualified electronic signature and digital identity.
Kenan Perviz from the IDDEEA Office in Sarajevo explains that citizens first sign the contract and confirm the accuracy of the e-mail address, after which they receive access parameters. The first part of the key was served on the spot, while others arrive at the e-mail address and represents the code that users must not share.
The Advisor to the Director of the Armin Musa Information Systems emphasizes that the highest advantage of the electronic signature is the possibility of the citizens to check the status of their documents at all times, but also receive a notice when it expires.
The introduction of digital identity and e-signature is a large step forward in the digital transformation of public administration and the private sector. Citizens allows legislative electronic identification and signing of documents via a mobile phone or computer – quickly, safely and without going to the counter.
