Asim Ferhatović was born on January 24, 1933 in Sarajevo. He grew up in Kovaci, where he started playing football. From Vratnik, he moved to Koševo at the age of 15 in the youth team of FK Sarajevo, which is how he began his football career and remained faithful to the burgundy jersey until the end. He made a short appearance in Turkey, and wore the national team jersey only once.
