In the 16th round of the Italian Serie A, Fiorentina players registered their first league victory of the season, thus ending a long streak without a triumph.
After as many as 15 consecutive games without a win, with nine defeats and six draws, the team from Florence achieved a convincing triumph against Udinese with a score of 5:1 in front of the home crowd.
The meeting is practically directed at an early stage. In the seventh minute, the guest’s goalkeeper Maduka Okoye received a straight red card for a foul that prevented a potential scoring opportunity. Fiorentina turned their numerical advantage into a lead in the 21st minute, when Rolando Mandragora shook the net of his former club.
Until the end of the first half, the home team completely controlled the events on the field. Alberto Gudmundsson increased the score in the 42nd minute, while Cher Ndour scored the third goal in stoppage time, so Fiorentina went to the break with a big 3:0.
In the rest of the game, the tempo did not decrease. Moise Kean increased the advantage to 4:0 in the 56th minute, and although Udinese reduced it ten minutes later through Oumar Solet, the question of the winner was already resolved. Kean made the final 5:1 with his second goal in the 68th minute.
