The V. Handball Winter Cup Mostar, a traditional international handball tournament for young people, which is held for the fifth year in a row in the city on the Neretva, was officially opened in the Bijeli Brijeg Sports Hall on Friday.
This year’s edition of the tournament, organized by the Zrinjski Handball School and SRK Zrinjski Mostarbrought together an impressive 1150 participants and 49 teams from five countries in the region.
Support for the development of young talent
At the opening, the president of the Organizing Committee addressed the attendees Andrej Bosniakwho thanked all the institutions for their support in the organization of this demanding sports competition.
Mayor of the City of Mostar Mario Kordic in his address, he pointed out that the city has seen a strong development of sports infrastructure in recent years.
He emphasized the importance of this event for Mostar, adding how systematic investments in sports aim to create quality conditions for the development of young talents and future top athletes.

The tournament was officially opened by the vice president of HDZ BiH Darijana Filipovićwhich emphasized the importance of holding such events in Mostar, which further confirms the city as an important sports center.
