Bosnia and Herzegovina tennis player Nerman Fatić was defeated at the start of the qualification for the first Grand Slam tournament of the season, the Australian Open.
In the first round of the qualifiers in Melbourne, Fatić was defeated by eighth-ranked Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka 6:1, 6:2.
Thus, Bosnia and Herzegovina will have only one representative in the main draw, Damir Džumhur. The 33-year-old from Sarajevo, who is ranked 66th in the new ATP list, is participating in the Adelaide tournament this week ahead of his performance in Melbourne, and in the first round he will play against the qualifier from Kazakhstan, Alexander Shevchenko.
